The Clark County Wetlands Park is an expansive 2,900-acre park that is 9 miles from the Vegas Strip and easily accessible by car.
A green gem in the mostly desert landscape, this park is the perfect place to experience nature during a Vegas holiday without necessarily going too far out of your way.

The trails at the park follow the streams, and the serenity of the park is one of the most beautiful things about it. Keep your eyes peeled for the diverse plant species, such as the cottonwood trees and tall cattails. The meandering streams also drain in several ponds, creating a reliable ecosystem.
Carry your camera and a pair of binoculars if you love bird watching. Best of all is the fact that there are viewing places where you can enjoy bird watching without disturbing them. Some of the most popular bird species include The American Coot, the Ruddy Duck, the Great Blue Heron, as well as the Cinnamon Teal Duck.
When you need to rest and simply soak in the beauty of the park, sit down at any of the shaded areas provided. It is important to note that pets are not allowed in Nature Preserve, but may be walked along the Duck Creek Trail provided they are on a leash. Duck Creek Trail is a favorite for families because it also features picnic areas, complete with a cycling and horseback trails.
Visit the information center and learn more about the area, in addition to the abundant flora and fauna on site. You can also get a map of the park from the center.
As a general guide, remember to wear a comfortable and sturdy pair of walking shoes because of the terrain. Carry plenty of water too, especially if you plan to visit during summer.
