Spring Valley

Spring Valley is a small unincorporated town in Clark County and located just five minutes west off the Las Vega Strip. The town, which was formed in 1981, was previously occupied by the Stardust International Raceway.

The land was then purchased by a residential home building company in the mid-70s before it was given its current name.

The town’s name was inspired, in part, by its beautiful views of the Spring Mountains, as well as by its location within the Las Vegas Valley. Today, the town occupies a significant part of the southwest Valley. It is bordered by Decatur Boulevard to the east, Hualapai Way to the West, Sahara Avenue to the North, and Warm Springs Road to the south.

One of the town’s must-see nearby attractions is the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. The park is located half an hour’s drive from Spring Valley and is easily accessible using Blue Diamond Road.

The state park has historically doubled up as a luxurious retreat for its eclectic owners, as well as a working ranch. Today, visitors get the chance to walk down memory lane and explore some of the region’s oldest buildings. The blacksmith shop stands out as it has existed since the mid-19th century and offers a glimpse into that era’s economic activities.

Look out for the Sandstone Cabin, which is a charming structure that served as the home of the ranch’s founding family. Walking through the cabin’s rooms creates a sense of belonging, almost like its owners may have felt many years ago.

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is also loved for its myriad of outdoor activities. Hiking trails meander throughout the park that provides the perfect opportunity to explore the area. Additional amenities here include picnic sites, shaded areas to relax, as well as BBQ grills for the perfect day out.

Other attractions near Spring Valley include Wet’ n’Wild Las Vegas, the Rhodes Ranch Town Center, Red Ridge Park, The Arroyo Market Square, Charlie Frias Park, Spring Valley Community Park, the Rhodes Ranch Golf Club, and the Spanish Trail Country Club.
