Vegas Creek

Vegas Creek is a small township within Clark County, Las Vegas.

Due to the small population, the census was dissolved and is currently part of Sunrise Manor.

The area does have some history, though. In 1855, some Mormon missionaries established a home out of an adobe fort by Vegas Creek, making them the first non-native, permanent settlers of Las Vegas Valley.

The park is still around today, featuring remnants of the adobe fort. Visitors can learn about its history thanks to interpretive displays and a visitor center.

Vegas Creek is also one of several important tributaries to the Las Vegas Wash, alongside Red Rock Wash, Tropicana Wash, Flamingo Wash, Duck Creek, C1 Channel, Monson Channel, Range Wash, and Sloan Channel.

Las Vegas Valley’s water flows into the Colorado River and Lake Mead systems. Water flows through all year round.
