The ride typically begins slowly and steadily – perhaps building up the suspense. Consider this the opportunity of a lifetime to marvel at the surrounding scenery of the mountainous region and the desert landscape. This goes on until you get to the 209-foot mark at the peak, and suddenly everything changes!

The roller coaster drops through a tunnel, attaining speeds of almost 90 miles per hour! And just when you though the scream fest was over, a second plummet takes you through a 155-foot spiral.

To this speed and force in perspective, it helps to know that astronauts fly into space experience 3.5Gs just before taking off – this ride hit 4Gs! So you can be sure that the Desperado Roller Coaster is for thrill-seekers who are unafraid of a new challenge. Note that if you experience sensitivity in the back or neck, you may end up leaving the roller coaster feeling a little woozy. As a general guide, try and sit up as much as you can. It helps to stay still and just experience the thrill.

The Desperado Roller Coaster is open between Fridays and Sundays, from 12pm to 9:30pm (except Sunday, when it closes at 7:30pm).
