As southern Nevada’s only public Planetarium, the facility is a remarkable destination for astronomy enthusiasts. It is interesting to note that the stars in the sky are, quite literally, the stars of this spectacular show. One of the best things about this Planetarium is that it features a high definition video projection system that helps create virtual realities of the dazzling sky on the dome.

The design of the dome in the theatre means that audiences get to enjoy the displays on the hemispheric system for an exhilarating experience. Depending on the time of your visit, each session has a different focus. There is an array of celestial objects to watch, including the clusters of different stars, the planets, and the moon.

The out-of-this-world beauty at The Planetarium at CSN is a sight to behold. In addition to this, once the longitude, latitude, date and time are set, visitors in the theatre can see the stunning treasures of the night sky for that specific evening. This is a stimulating introduction to outer space and something for the whole family to enjoy.

Note that there are different events and shows for the public on weekends. Note that since this is home for the Las Vegas Astronomical Society, occasionally the Planetarium will be used for introductory courses for astronomy students.

So, whether you are looking for an exciting educational trip, or would like a different kind of fun in Las Vegas, then this Planetarium and Observatory is a befitting location. The hours of operation are between 6pm and 8pm on Fridays and between 3.30pm and 8pm on Saturdays. It remains closed for the rest of the week.

Admission into the Planetarium is $6 for adults and $4 for seniors above 55 years, children under 12, and youth groups.

To visit, make your way to Cheyenne Campus at the Community College of Southern Nevada.
