Lee Canyon

Lee Canyon is an amazing natural attraction and home to a vibrant community and recreational facility in the Springs Mountains of Nevada.

The region is best known for its numerous campgrounds and the ski resort that has become synonymous with the canyon – the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort at the top of the canyon.

The Lee Canyon Mountain Resort is located around 1 hour from Las Vegas off Highway 156. If you are looking for an adventurous vacation in Las Vegas, then look no further than this resort. Considering that there isn’t much of a winter in the region, skiing at the resort is one of the simplest ways to bring on the seasonal cheer.

The resort was established in 1963 and provides excellent options for the outdoor lover. With 20 well-maintained trails and more than 250 acres of country terrain, there are many options for outdoor adventures. The side country terrain is accessible using chairlifts and a single surface lift. Best of all, there are more than 30 acres of snowboarding terrain on site.

Not only is this an excellent opportunity to learn snowboarding or to perfect your skills, but it is also an excellent place for a family vacation. For snowboarders, there are several options for private and group lessons. In recent years, the Lee Canyon Resort has been upgraded to include the Rabbit Peak Quad – an energy-efficient lift that was introduced to make it easy for newbies to access the beginner’s terrain.

Other facilities at the resort include the Bighorn Grill (which is best loved for its baked potato bar and burgers), the Bristlecone Bar, and the Bighorn Dogs. The latter is a hot dog cart that remains open on weekends – perfect for grabbing a snack and heading out to the snow. Ski equipment and clothing rental is also available.

For the adventure-seeker looking for accommodation up on the mountain, some of the options available include the Camp Lee Canyon, as well as the McWilliams, Dolomite, and the Old Mill Campgrounds.

Whether you would like to explore Lee Canyon, or are excited to go for snowboarding on a whim, this destination does not disappoint.
