The town was named after Edward Bunker, one of the first settlers in Utah, before he began another settlement in the present-day Bunkerville. In the years that followed after the settlement, the residents created a communal routine that involved the use of communal land and sharing the fruits of their labor.

Fast forward to today, and the town’s numerous attractions make it a perfect destination for the whole family. From national parks to water parks and picnic sites, there are many fun things to do while staying in Bunkerville.

Travel a bit out of town and explore the Valley of Fire State Park in Moapa Valley. Perfect for thrill-seekers, this unique park is the oldest and largest park in Nevada. The park is well known for its striking red sandstone formations that make or a good hike.

Alternatively, explore Little Finland – a popular destination that is often referred to as Devil’s Fire. This magical place boasts sandstone rock formations that have, over the years, been carved by water and wind to create magnificent shapes. Hikers are advised to be careful, as some of the rocks are very delicate.

For extreme adrenaline junkies, there is also the option of off-road adventures. Whether that means hiring a buggy and driving into the heart of the desert or getting a four-wheel-drive vehicle to take on the treacherous landscape, Bunkerville does not disappoint.
