Part of the reason for this is that this part of the park is the easiest to access compared to the other three rims. In addition to this, the South Rim is open all year round, and with its great amenities, it is the perfect family destination. The numerous hotels and attractions are another reason why the South Rim attracts millions of visitors each year.

Enjoy sightseeing at the numerous viewpoints that dot the park. Start at Pima Point, which is one of the last stops for several shuttle services. From this point, visitors enjoy stunning views of the Colorado River and more than 50 kilometers of the Grand Canyon.

Mohave Point is a spectacular viewpoint for sunset lovers. There are several individual viewpoints here, giving everyone the chance to soak into the golden rays of the sunset. Other viewing points include Mather Point, Hopi Point, and Yavapai Point. The latter is ideal for anyone who wants to see the inner Canyon.

An adventure at Grand Canyon South Rim is not complete without visiting the Grand Canyon Village. This is because the village is home to most of the iconic landmarks that make up the Grand Canyon. Also present are gift shops, restaurants, and museums. Look out for Hopi House, Kolb Studio, and the iconic El Tovar Hotel.

The South Rim is perfect for first-time visitors, thanks to its engaging activities and amazing amenities. Families with small children will find this to be the most ideal destination among the park’s different rims.

The Grand Canyon South Rim is accessible using route 64 from Interstate 40, with daily scheduled bus services and the option of flights to Las Vegas, then taking a shuttle. Many tour operators are also on-site to offer exciting packages for interested visitors.
